May 7, 2015 (Greenville, SC) —The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, ESGR, announced in late March 2015 that Shannon Banks was a nominee to attend the ESGR 2015 BossLift trip in Tampa, Florida. This nomination was presented from the Employment Advisors of the South Carolina National Guard. Shannon is a Staffing Specialist out of the Greenville, SC branch and has been with StaffMasters for over 1.5 years.

ESGR is a Department of Defense agency seeking to promote a culture in which employers support and value the military service of their employees by advocating, recognizing, increasing awareness of the law and resolving conflict through mediation. South Carolina National Guard Employment Services recognized Shannon because of the high number of veterans and guardsmen she has placed through StaffMasters’ services. She has worked closely with the SCNG and ESGR for several years and has established a strong working relationship with these two organizations.  Her diligent and consistent relationship building, in conjunction with her heart and passion for employing veterans, earned her this notable nomination.

Shannon was one of forty-four employers, volunteers and community leaders from South Carolina to attend the event hosted at the MacDill Air force base from April 30th to May 1st. At the event, she was able to fly on and explore a C-17 plane. She participated in live simulation demos of parachute drops and learned about the different parachutes types, survival techniques and equipment used. Additionally she received the privilege to attend a formal unclassified debriefing on ISIS as well as attend a demo by the NOAA flight team.

Hiring and supporting veterans, active Reservists and Guardsmen, along with their family members is incredibly important to both Shannon and StaffMasters, and they are proud to stand behind this effort.
